Here we are, a few months away from the final chapter of a love story almost a lifetime in the making. While the bride and groom are toiling away putting the final touches on their wedding day and dreaming of their future as newly minted husband and wife, I think now is an appropriate time for a trip down memory lane that will connect the dots on the series of events that is bringing you all to a garden in the quaint New Brunswick town of St. Andrews by-the-Sea.



Despite going to the same middle school, high school, and university and having many of the same close friends, it wasn’t until 2015, on a cold winter’s night, in the Church Street parking lot that John and Sarah’s love story took flight. Having both moved back from Halifax prematurely, they found themselves in a familiar place that, up until that moment, was lacking familiar faces. Little did they know, they were about to embark on the greatest journey of their lives.



Over the remainder of that year, John and Sarah developed a friendship that was to become the foundation for a solid relationship. Despite John repeatedly trying to convince Sarah that they should be dating, Sarah valued her independence and insisted to John that she was not interested in anything more.



It wasn’t until December 2015, when a family friend tried to set Sarah up with her son, that Sarah finally realized that she was very much interested, indeed. She drove over to John’s house on Christmas Eve and spent the evening with his family, and a relationship quickly formed from there.



The next year was a whirlwind, during which they bought their first home together, Sarah went back to university, and they fell deeper in love. In 2017, they made the decision to bring a dog, Samson into their little family. Once Samson was in the picture, it became clear that Sarah and John were in it for the long haul, and on November 16, 2018, John proposed to Sarah at a concert, during a song about two friends falling in love in a Church Street parking lot.



The rest is history.





Sarah and John both eagerly await the opportunity to celebrate with each and every one of you on July 9th, 2022 and look forward to dancing the night away under the starry sky in St. Andrews by-the-Sea.
